Say goodnight, the party’s over

August 15, 2007

Well everyone, it’s all over. The training camp blog is no more. We would like to thank everyone who read the blog and contributed. In other words, thanks Chip Heard. The season is approaching and all will be right with the world. Thanks everyone, enjoy the remainder of the preseason.

Big Smith getting reps

August 15, 2007

Kenny “Big” Smith is getting some reps on the defensive line alongside Vince Wilfork and Jarvis Green. A PFW favorite, it looks like Big may be a movin’ on up.

Kight takes off

August 15, 2007

Kelvin Kight made a great catch in the corner of the end zone. Matt Gutierrez floated a pass up to Kight who fully extended to bring the ball in. There is a debate on whether or not Kight got his second foot in bounds, but it was a nice catch nonetheless.

Tough day for the rookies

August 15, 2007

After getting hair cuts earlier in the day, the rookies are sliding down a muddy wet hill while being forced to catch a football. This is the second time during training camp this has gone on over on the far hill. The wet rooks are now trotting back onto the field to a much deserved round of applause from the fans.

One guess what the stretching music is today

August 15, 2007

If you’re guess is anything other than Bon Jovi, it’s a poor effort on your part.

No Brady

August 15, 2007

Tom Brady isn’t on the field for the afternoon practice. He also missed the morning session, most likely resting his arm for Friday’s preseason game with the Titans.

Bad Medicine at Gillette Stadium

August 15, 2007

Jon Bon Jovi is here giving love a bad name. Bon Jovi usually makes an appearance during training camp. The New Jersey native is friends with Bill Belichick and Bon Jovi’s music is often played while the team stretches. Thank God because Bon Jovi is the best band ever. Ever.

The rocker is down on the field right now talking with Belichick and Robert Kraft.

A really long snapper

August 15, 2007

Lonie Paxton just long snapped the ball and hit the goal post from 20 yards away, drawing a large applause from the crowd.

Rookie haircut day

August 15, 2007

Well, the poor rookies met the razor between practices and I’m not talking about Gillette Stadium. The rookies all came out to the practice field with new “haircuts” this afternoon. From here, it looks like Clint Oldenburg and Zach West drew the short straws, as they garnered the most laughs here at the media tent.

Nothing going on this morning

August 15, 2007

No action this morning everyone. The first and second teamers completed a walkthrough before practice started. The rest of the players are now participating in a full pads walkthrough. The most notable players in attendance are Brandon Meriweather, Garrett Mills, Mel Mitchell, Russ Hochstein, Rashad Baker, Bam Childress, Willie Andrews, Kelvin Kight and Corey Mays.

We’ll be back for tonight’s session, which will hopefully be much more interesting since it’s the final training camp practice open to the public this year.
