Tate, LeVoir added to roster
Written by Andy Hart on October 25, 2009 – 8:17 am -The Patriots have filled their two open roster spots by adding tackle Mark LeVoir and wide receiver Brandon Tate to the 53-man roster in advance of Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. LeVoir had been on PUP while the rookie third-round pick Tate opened the year on NFI due to a knee injury suffered in college.
Tate adds depth to a WR spot that has Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Sam Aiken healthy at this point with Julian Edelman dealing with an arm injury and Joey Galloway having been cut last week.
LeVoir gives the Patriots some tackle depth as Matt Light deals with a knee injury. Sebastian Vollmer, a rookie second-round pick has been starting in Light’s place, but the team was without a true tackle backup last week against Tennessee. LeVoir would seem to fill that void.
