Be prepared

Written by Paul Perillo on June 23, 2009 – 11:50 am -

The Boy Scouts motto has been the order of business in New England during an offseason filled with departures to both the coaching staff and the personnel department.

After losing top man Scott Pioli to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Patriots watched scouts Jay Muraco, Marvin Allen and Jim Nagy leave for various posts around the league. We can add another name to the list — Adam Peters.

Peters is now with Denver, where he’ll join Josh McDaniels as part of the Broncos personnel department. He was an area scout last year and had been in the Patriots personnel department for six seasons.

What “area” did Peters scout specifically ???….

  2. Patriots Links 6/24/09 Says:

[...] Perillo notes Adam Peters is the latest scout to leave the Patriots.  Peters, the fourth scout to leave this year, was an area scout with New England for six seasons [...]

  3. Paul Perillo Says:

The Patriots don’t divulge that information so we can’t definitively say which area Peters was responsible for. There are times when we can figure it out based on which guys the players mention they spoke with during the draft process, but really it’s just guess work.

yeah-judging by the draft this year the pariots had little to none in drop off due to scouting attrition…they have again re-loaded well !….

interesting note paul:the 09 sporting news yearbook has the G-men and Patriots meeting yet again- this time in miami this February for super bowl 44…they list on page 8, 7 reasons “we like the Giants to win”.Perhaps THE glaring reason is #4 reason that being- ” A ferocious” Giant pass rush….could be sweet revenge for the Patriot o-line if this time round they could finish the job they all wish they could have back ….

Paul, you’re my favorite Pats correspondent ever, but wazzat? “Be prepared” B.S.A. mantra as a heading? Paulie baby, sometimes you’re a tad on the corny side. Like yesterday on “In Progress”. You were actually wondering why someone would want to see Springsteen, or any musical act, more than once on any particular tour. Oy. And that hairdo. keeping the Crisco can close by, I see. But seriously, you’re the man Pats-wise. If I could get a “Perillo Nod” just once in my life, I would die considering my life a success. You’re the authority, bar none, Pats wise. And incredibly polite, fair, and open minded on air. I commend you on your impeccable demeanor, seriously. But as Elvis would say,”You’re so square, baby I don’t care.” Be Prepared, Boy Scouts? You KILL me! Classic Perillo-ism. Typical.

    Brooklyn Matt

P.S.- Not Connecticut Matt. Andy once called him a wuss under his breath. That’s typical too. Classic Andy-ism.
