How does Marshall Faulk have a job on TV?
Marshall Faulk is an embarrassment. Faulk and Mike Mayock were arguing whether or not you need a two-back system in the NFL these days to be successful. Faulk brought up LT and said he has Michael Turner to take pressure off of him. Mayock correctly fired back with, “How many carries does Turner get during the season?” Faulk then replied, “A lot.” Let’s go to the videotape. Here is how it broke down in 2007:
Tomlinson: 315 carries for 1,474 yards
Turner: 71 carries for 316 yards
That’s a lot, Marshall? Let me give you a tip my friend. In the future when you are talking about teams that employ a two-back system, you may not want to use the Chargers as your prime example. A lot. I died laughing when I heard that. What league are you watching Marshall?

Yeah I too got a good laugh out of that argument they had. I personally think the entire group doing the broadcast has been awful, they’ve spent more time arguing amongst each other and talking nonsense. I think even the senile John Madden could offer more insight.

i just found out that i can watch the combine live on NFL.COM, but does anyone know where i can find a list of players in each of the WR groups or when each group is scheduled to run?

I agree. Now Faulk is tring to say that Andre Woodson of Kentucky is on par with Matt Ryan because Woodson played in the SEC. Again Mayock just went to the tape and ruined him.

I love how Marshall has no credibility at all when evaluating players. He doesn’t watch any real game film. Mayock is much more professional. Marshall should not be allowed to talk. He is embarassing the Faulk name. Kevin needs to call him and teach him a thing or two.

Nick,
Sorry to disappoint you but the NFL.com live coverage is absolutely terrible so if you are looking for any organization to the whole process you probably won’t find any. The best thing to do is to just wait for Tom to give you the results of everything.

Gang, I think Marshall hasn’t been watching a lot of these draft prospects film. Because Marshall is, in fact, one of the most intelligent guys to ever play football. His former coaches said, “Marshall was always the smartest guy in the room, coaches and players combined.” His former teammates uniformly said he was the smartest guy they had ever been around in football, especially guys like London Fletcher, Kurt Warner, Ricky Proehl, Kevin Carter and all the others who played with a lot of different teams. Peyton Manning said Faulk was a great mentor to him when they played together his rookie year and taught him a ton about how to read defenses, change the play at the LOS to attack the Ds schemes, etc.
Faulk knew EVERY players position and route in every play in the Mad Mike Martz 400 play playbook, and routinely tipped his QB (Warner, Bulger, etc.) to get a teammates attention to change their position and line up correctly after the Rams broke the huddle and set at the LOS. In fact, Faulk created plays that the Rams used in their offensive scheme, specifically to attack the tendencies of each opponent’s D they played against. His long -time teammates such as Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt and Orlando Pace said as a teammate he was another coach on the field.
So…Faulk is as smart as football players come. Everyone who has coached or played for or against him knows it.
But…he obviously isn’t doing his homework on this particular assignment.

Good thing we have the worst blog in NE (not the 2nd worst) to go to for our information. If we had to rely on Marshal and his croonies we wouldn’t have accurate, non-bias, more in-depth info. You cork soakers need to keep up the bad blogging.

When are you guys going to start watching the film? Also, is this the film that NFL teams watch of the prospects? Where do you get the film of the prospects?
By the way, great blog and even talent-less Erik was okay.

I agree Faulk sucks at what he does, I got such a laugh when they asked him what he though about spgate a few weeks ago, he came across like a dumb kid it was so funny, he said something like “its doesnt matter what they find out about the rams/pats superbowl because even if the pats did do it they will sweep it under the rug” sounds like a sore loser to me.
