Meriweather in the mix
The Boston HeraldĀ is reportingĀ that the Patriots have agreed to a five-year deal with first-round pick Brandon Meriweather. If that’s the case, there’s a good chance we’ll see the rookie safety on the field for Friday’s late practice. Stay tuned.

New leader of the secondary? He’s a rookie. He’s the subject of a barrage of locker-room pranks right now, let’s hold off on “leader”. And of course he’s going to turn heads, he’s the teams #1 draft pick!

He’ll be a very good player for us, I still wish we picked David Harris though.

yeah-pranks aside-why is it hard to beleive he can lead as a rookie ??!![ lofa Tatupu in Seattle did it as a rook] nay sayers will be proven wrong…..

I agree with the post above. I REALLY wish we’d gone with “David Says”’s draft ideas over those of Belichick and Pioli. After all, they just have months of scouting reports and their own sense of the team’s roster, whereas David Says spent a couple hours googling “Michigan” + “Linebackers.” How could Belichick be so STUPID?!!

david, you’re an idiot
david harris over merriweather? no way… b-mer will be a beast in the secondary and a star in the nfl.. harris? he’ll play for 6 different teams as a special teams player in his career

I’m on board with merriweather being am impact player and a harrison type safety. but to say that harris will just be a special teams player is stubid.
