Respect is flowing freely

I don’t think Patriots fans or players will be able to play the respect card anymore. Have you listened to any media outlets today? I think many are already designing New England’s Super Bowl XLII rings. After today’s trade for Randy Moss New England has become everyone’s favorite to win it all in the Arizona desert next February. The team has added proven playmakers on offense, defenses and special teams. Not bad for a team that came up just short of another Super Bowl berth last winter. Most people think the strong have gotten that much stronger. Right now, I have to agree. If I had to rank the teams to beat I’d go with, in this order, the Patriots, Broncos, Colts and Steelers. The Patriots have a formidable schedule, but on paper it doesn’t look like anything they won’t be able to handle. I don’t say this too often, but I really feel like a homer right now.

But with it comes the additional pressure, am so a bit scared. in all the superbowl wins, we were the underdogs and we played that so well. I think no team or expert can now claim patriots as a team of no namers anymore, its not just brady and unknowns, we have too many big names. Its more exciting now to see if ESPN experts can still pick colts to beat pats. I dont care about who they pick I want to know how we can beat them, maybe bill bellichick finally figured that to beat Manning we need to involve in shoot outs and I think Brady has to be play much better now that he has got more weapons.

Who’s the best player in the league at handling pressure? Tom Brady.
    Need I say more?

karthik, you’es right. Brady doesn’t have Gaffney or Caldwell as excuses anymore: he’s got Moss, Stallworth, Washington, and Welker as weapons.

Let us all pray for no significant injuries. If you think about it we haven’t exactly been underdogs all the time. In the 2003 and 2004 season we were one of the top teams and recognized for it during the playoffs through the superbowl, so it doesn’t mean we can’t do it just because the pressure is on for us to be the favorite. Remember the Colts were the favorite going into last year and they finished it off, so there is validity barring any major injuries. This is gonna be a fun season but you know the Pats are gonna make it interesting like they always do. For what it is worth no matter what happens next season, we got 5 first day picks in next year’s draft so I don’t want to hear anybody complain that we mortgaged our future for this season!

I’m really excited by all of the moves in this offseason, but we haven’t even played a snap and everybody is already to give us the Lombardi Trophy. I think all of us in Patriot nation have a lot to be excited about, but should sit back and be patient . It’s a long season.

I also think that the Chargers are a team to worry about. They may have not brought in too many new playmakers, but they also haven’t lost too many people on a team that has a lot of depth.
The AFC is so dominant right now, it’s ridiculous.

Four words that say the chargers are not a threat: Norv Turner, Head Coach

Ridiculous, I can’t believe everyone is hyping up the fact that Randy Moss got drafted. Personally, unless BB and the staff can drill him hard, if anything… Randy is going to be a SET BACK.

Serious. The guy has attitude problems, which is something that this team is proud NOT to have. Second, Randy is always whining about not getting the ball enough. We can’t have that kind of pressure on Brady. Our man needs to be free to make the plays that are required, at that moment, to win games…. not sit there and calculate exactly how many he threw to who ever.

BB and the staff need to crack on Moss real hard to make him understand that this is a team effort, and professionalism is absolutely mandatory at all times…. on and OFF field. All of which, Moss has failed miserably at so many times it’s ridiculous. I’m actually ashamed that we drafted him.

The only good we can get from this is the fact that Moss IS a good player. This is something that no body can deny….. just wish his damn ego didn’t get in the way.

i have to agree with the respect to the the patriots. My trust is in Bill that we will make every team suffer to get into the superbowl. we have full ledge weapons and respect around the league now. I wouldn’t be suprise if we go 16-0 or even 19-0 by season end. I appreciate Bill and tom Brady putting the team in the most highest respectable team in the league.

The Patriots will play the disrespect card, it is what they do.

    Some possible examples:

They said I was a bad guy, they said I would destroy the team, they said I was done! Well we are here to show you that I am a team player and we just what to prove it!

No one gave us a chance of getting here! (alwaysa good one to pull out, even if the reporter can show them 20 headlines declaring them the favorite.

(Insert team) are the best! they have a strong running game and a strong passing game. Their defense could start in the pro-bowl. We just have to be prepared for them.

We will see what happens! All we can do is show up to play. (insert team) has been playing very welll and we will have to play our best tot beat them.

    on and on it goes!

Not a bad way to go, sure beats the “We are the best and we will kick their arse.”
