Haaaaaaaaa. Oh, someone help me. I have tears in my eyes I’m laughing so hard. This guy was projected as a 7th rounder at best by everyone on the planet. John Bowie. Don’t worry if you can’t find him in your draft publication, we couldn’t either. This is the greatest day of my life.

I think Belichek is still picking for the other teams, the Bills just took another RB

Dammit, Wright was a Pat hopeful later on. But if they want to reach, then that’s fine by me.
Put it this way, Bowie is the only player yet that nfl.com doesn’t have a link to on their draft tracker.

Whoooeee! We just got – uh – John Bowie!
Oh, wait, no. WE got the guy who’s going to Canton, after winning at least one more ring in NE – the Raiders got the guy who will need to buy a ticket to see the inside of the Hall.
Glad I root for the BB dynasty, not the start of the Kiffen era!

what number is Randy going to wear??? 18 is gone!

The Steelers just took the punter Sepulveda. I really like their draft so far. Although I hate to admit it. Also love what the 49ers have done. Starting to worry about where next year’s #1 from them will be. Late 20’s?

Am I the only one a little confused? A second and seventh for Wes Welker, but a fourth for Randy Moss. Does it all come down to salary?

I don’t concern myself withOakland’s ineptness, but Randy Moss added to how many receivers? Great camp competition or great packaging for trades? To get the needs in LB corps and DBs?? Thanks for the blog this weekend.

What’s really amazing is the praise Oakland is getting from some of the analysts, I kid you not, “what a great move, this is just what they needed” (he’s saying that about the RAIDERS)

Bowie isnt even listed in any national draft magazines! What are the Pats gonna do for a punter this year?!
April 29, 2007 at 12:00 pm |
Wow…this team never ceases to amaze me. I thank the Lord I was born a Patriots fan, even after years of ridicule, horrible teams, and inept coaches. It’s been a dream since Parcells came on board, and then turned into a full-blown fantasy after Belichick brought us to the promised land for the first time in SB 36. Great move, BB & SP…you guys rule!

Charlie, I think you are right on with those insights.

Bob B:
My thoughts exactly. When everyone was kickin and screaming over how good the deal was with San Fran I was thinkin it might not be a high pick. San Fran beat division winner Seattle twice last season and looked like a much improved team. They are a year older and will be better this season. I doubt it will be a high pick we got from them.

From wiki…. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Moss
“On Sunday April 29, 2007, Moss was traded to the Patriots for five pounds of peanut butter[1].”

we need linebackers

The Pats are in a great position with Randy Moss. Lets be honest, he can be a jerk and can tear at the seams of a good team (See T.O.). But the Pats hold the all of the cards now. If Moss is being an idiot in training camp while whining and not finishing his routes, the Pats can just cut him. What did they lose? A fourth rounder that they picked up for free from Frisco? who cares? They already have a deep receiving corps so losing Moss wouldn’t be terrible. So great job BB and SP and even if it doesn’t work out we took a shot!

I’m an ecstatic Pats fan right now. But can someone explain the Raider’s decision making at this point?
If you know or are at least very willing to trade Moss, why wouldn’t they have drafted Calvin Johnson? How do you trade away your best receiver after taking a QB with the first pick?
April 29, 2007 at 3:18 pm |
YES YES YES, i am so ecited for this season. Moss is still a good enough not great player with Brady thowing to him.
Brady work on that arms strenght cuz your gonna need it.

I never thought I’d say this, I’m happy they traded for Randy Moss. I wasn’t too thrilled earlier in the off-season when people were talking about him coming in via free agency, but in a trade for a 4th round pick…that’s a different story! Hopefully he’ll decide he want to play ball again; if so he should be rewarded with a chance at a Super Bowl ring with the Pats. If not, then they can simply cut him or trade him.
Also like the move trading to San Fran for next year’s 1st round pick. Heck, if it’s between 10 and 15 that’s excellent!

I’m thrilled that the Pats got Randy Moss because he can definiteley catch a lot of balls for Tom Brady and help us to Arizona. He is a great player whose character problems can be fixed by the right people, BB and Brady. I still think they should have taken a linebacker. The Jets got David Harris and the Steelers got Woodley. Our rivals seem to have obviously gotten better talent this year from the draft. Then the Patriots could have picked Odossie but they passed him up too. BB and SP seriously need to choose some LBs because Bruschi and Vrabel aren’t getting any younger. They passed up on Bishop too.
