Did anyone watch the Notre Dame pass defense last year?

If I were Mike Richardson, I wouldn’t be buying property in New England. I’m sure he’s a nice kid and I’m happy he got drafted but give me a break. Richardson got beat like a drum last year and in my opinion, has very little chance of making the team. I just don’t get this pick. I know the Pats made some weird selections on Day 2 but the Richardson pick makes absolutely no sense to me.

I didn’t even need to read who posted ths entry, i knew from the title. Good to have you back Tom. If only Bill took C.J Wilson instead, who is now a Panther.

I watched a few Notre Dame games this past season I think that defense sucked and it showed when they faced USC and got lit up like a christmas tree.

I wonder if anybody has any stats on how many late rounders and undrafted FAs actually make it as starters in the league. It’s got to be like just a handful out of the entire class each year. It’s basically like playing the lottery and rarely does anybody get the prize.

This is the “Billy Sullivan - Vegas Ferguson” Memorial Wasted Pick” to remember the team’s Irish heritage.

So was the Texas pass D but Griffin and Ross were both drafted in the 1st Rd. Richardson is no lock but a solid 6th Rd pick.

This was Bill doin Weiss a solid.. this helps Charlie with recruiting more than it helps the Pats.. No biggie IMO if the kid surprises everyone and makes the team as a special teamer or PSquad then bonus.

I dunno maybe its just me but did this draft not feel like the Pats mailed it in? They got one of the 3 most talented safetys in the draft an then they were done. They traded away thier own 1st for a future 1st with some very good players still on the board. The comments about the Pats not wanting to spend money on picks because they need the cash for Samuel an Moss now looks suspicously on target.

Richardson had very good workout at his pro day. According to NFL Draft Scout, these were his numbers…

    40′: 4.48
    10′: 1.47
    Shuttle: 4.05
    Cone: 6.27

These are phenomial numbers. He played on a bad defense and you know BB and Weis talked about this guy. For a 6th rounder, I like this pick. They should have went after Coe rather than Oldenburg in round 5, IMO, however.
