Clint Oldenburg update
I just spoke with Clint Oldenburg and he said the Patriots scouted him his entire senior year. Oldenburg played a different position every year in college. He believes his versatility drew the Patriots to him. I asked him about his brother e-mailing into Ask PFW and Oldenburg said that he likes to think of himself as a scout. When asked where his brother, Lee, had him going in this draft, Oldenburg responded, “High, but I think that was family bias.” Oldenburg also said that when he thinks of the Patriots the first thing that comes to mind is Super Bowl Championships.
The Patriots second sixth-round selection, SMU LB Justin Rogers, likes to kill and skin coyotes. To be honest, that’s all I know about him at this point. Both Oldenburg and Rogers appear to be likely candidates for the practice squad.

Anyone who can kill and skin a coyote deserves to be a lineman.

Hopefully he likes to catch and skin Bills, Fins and Jets

We didn’t need someone that skins coyotes. We needed someone that will skin Peyton Manning.

Sporting news doesn’t even have a profile for Rogers. But Oldenburg sounds good. His profile sounds like he just needs some coaching to be a useful player. Bishop just got drafted F’n Packers….

maybe meriweather and Rogers can go shooting together, and matt light can bring the guns

Justin Rogers isn’t even ranked on nfldraftcountdown.com.
And anyone who doesnt like the Moss deal is a moron, they didnt even give up a thing! A 4th round pick? please, to borrow a term used by Tom during last year’s draft to describe the trade for Chad Jackson “We raped them”

Huh and in both of my draft guides, Justin Rogers does not exist. Yet again making me wonder just how stupid BB and SP think everyone else is in regards to the draft.

Found some stats on Justin Rogers for last season, he play as a DE. He played in 11 games had 59 total tackles, 41 solo. 15 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup, 2 QB hurries and 2 forced fumbles. Might turn into a nice LB project.

While there’s nothing wrong with family connections, don’t the Pats have a glaring need that needs to be filled immediately here? Justin Rogers, from everything I can find, is a DE/OLB, not the Bruschi replacement. Bishop just went to the Packers. What’s up with Siler dropping? Abbate is still there…ah, jeez. BB is hellbent on digging in the trash heap for practice fodder. Prediction: nothing from here except special teamers.

Why has Siler dropped so far? Didn’t you guys project him as a 2nd rounder? Even Mel Kiper has him as one of his “Best Available!”

A bit off the point, but i think the pats should take Gary Russell with this R6 P28 even though linebackers are needed.

Rankings mean nothing at this pt. I dont care if Rogers wasn’t on some draft site. Siler has been #2 on the board for scout.com for like 3 rds, and He just got into Kiper’s top 10. No one has a clue at this pt!

I got the Pats taking Troy Smith soon.
